Comprehensive
         This is an eight hour course containing the requirements for the practices and procedures to protect employees from the hazards associated with entry into Permit-Required Confined Spaces.  Individuals who serve as entrants, attendants, or entry supervisors should take this course.

         Two versions of this course are being offered:
         1. The Basic Course covers the required information from the applicable OSHA Standards.  The Basic Course is recommended for use by customers with multiple sites or larger groups where individual policies, permits, and procedures may vary.
         2. The Basic Course can be customized to address the site's specific needs of the customer's workforce.  The Basic Course will serve as the foundation.  It will then be modified to incorporate the customer's existing applicable policies, practices and procedures, specific safety equipment, permits, hazardous materials, PPE, and/or other pertinent information.

Refresher
         This is a four hour refresher course for individuals who have previously taken the eight hour Permit-Required Confined Space Comprehensive Training.  OSHA will accept this refresher course as the required annual training for up to two years after the comprehensive training.  This course will not meet the requirements of the comprehensive training if it is the initial training effort.  Individuals who serve as entrants, attendants, or entry supervisors should take this course.

         1. The Basic Refresher Course covers the required information from the applicable OSHA Standards.  The Basic Refresher Course is recommended for use by customers with multiple sites or larger groups where individual policies, permits, and procedures may vary.
         2. Like the comprehensive training, the Basic Refresher Course can be customized to address the site's specific needs of the customer's workforce.  If the Comprehensive training has been customized, we recommend that the refresher training be customized.

Supervisor
         This two hour course provides business owners and supervisors an overview of what is required to establish a Permit-Required Confined Space Program.  Necessary policies, procedures, permits, signage, metering, equipment training, and staffing will be explained in detail.  Examples of successful programs will be provided and questions answered.  This course does not qualify and individual as an entry supervisor.
