         The Calumet Group, Inc. was founded in 1986 as a human resource development consulting company specializing in the development of customized training programs.  At the core of the operation was the use of the Process Based Training Model, which has revolutionized training of operations personnel in heavy industry.

         The training efforts were originally aimed at training highly technical operations in leading edge technological changes in manufacturing.  Our experience includes major efforts such as the start-up training for an entire greenfield plant, mandated training for 6000 person steel mill, development of training for cross-craft and craft combinations, evaluation of training efforts, and many more projects.

         Our training has made a mark in the manufacturing sector of this country.  We have proved very successful and are well accepted in business and industry.  One of the outcomes of our Process Based Training was the overpowering ability to modify organizational culture by utilizing training as a vehicle for change.  Soon our customers were using our design approach as a vehicle for organizational change.
